The Perfect Sunglasses

What are the requirements for you to be called a “pop star”?

1. You’ve gotta have an emotional problem (e.g. in the family or with your love life)
2. You’ve gotta be suicidal after you have sold millions of albums
3. You’ve gotta “accidentally” panty slip once in a while
4. You’ve gotta have a BFF who’s gonna be a frenemy and;
5. You’ve gotta have those perfect shades when you are surrounded by photogs as you pretend like you don’t like them around you! LOLZ.!

Anyway, I was looking for a topic for my third blog and was thinking of an accessory to talk about. I thought of featuring necklaces or earrings until I saw my duo-tone shades and thought of them as the best accessory especially now that it’s summer.

As I did my research (ahaha..yes, effort), I learned that there are several types of sunglasses namely:
1. Aviator
2. Clip-on/flip-up
3. Faded/graduated (but I like to call them duo-tone)
4. Mirrorshades
5. Oversized ( now being so popular and was initially worn by the famous Jackie O.)
6. Shutter shades (I thought this was a joke)
7. Teashades (those John Lennon and Lady Gaga types)
8. Wayfarers (current Rayban designs)
9. Wraparounds

I have also learned that for you to make sure that your glasses serve their real purpose (read: to protect your eyes, not just for those facebook-worthy pictures) they’ve got to bear some conformity marks such as shown in the picture below issued in Europian Economic Area:

I have also realized that the price of your shades is not a good measure of its quality and the protection it provides since there are pricey glasses which protects less than the not-so-pricey ones.

HOW TO PICK THE RIGHT ONE?

There’s no standard rule for picking any shades. Those celebrities we see looked good in their shades because:
1. They are celebrities who are obviously beautiful creatures
2. They have stylists who they pay millions for their day-to-day gear from head to foot
3. The y are confident with what they wear

We may not be (1) or (2) but we can always be (3). Anyways, for our guide on how look good in our shades (in addition to confidence), here are what the pros say on the shapes of the frames in proportion to our face shape:

SQUARE – glasses must have center or lower temples set and must have rounds and bends to accentuate face angles

OVAL –glasses must be square or rectangular to add angles; must avoid too loarge frames and must be wider than the broadest part of your face

OBLONG – opt for tall frames (width is longer than height) to make face appear shorter

ROUND – opt for glasses with rectangular and narrow frames to make face appear thinner

DIAMOND – oval and rimless frames are best for you

HEART- low-set temples and narrow, round frame

TRIANGLE – opt for top-heavy designs
